Parent Information

At Hemispheres we are able to carry out a range of different assessments, from screening assessments that identify if your child really does need occupational therapy through to our full and comprehensive assessment for those children that have known difficulties or for those who are compiling evidence for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We are here to help guide you to the right assessment, so any intervention can be focused towards your main concerns.

As occupational therapists, we are able to offer parents a solid foundation of general occupational therapy skills; however, what makes us different to other therapy practices, is our expertise in identify the underlying physical immaturity from which delayed motor, sensory, emotional and learning skills grow.

By applying recognised patterns of normal movement in our assessment, not only can we identify where signs of immaturity are present, but we can also offer effective programmes of movement to stimulate the development of more mature patterns of movement which gives rise to improved function, sensory processing and learning.
